In all his years of musical activity Ivan has always been interested in popular and jazz music, what is reflected in the Alpski Kvintet sound, too. Since 1996 he has been efficient as a studio musician with different Jazz bands like Miha Jazbinšek and his legends, Marjan Loborec Quartet, Gerhard Kraus Quartet, Petar Ugrin Band, Greentown Jazz Band and many others. As a member of the Jazz Club Gajo Quintet he took part in the Jazz festival in Montreux in 2000. The results of the mentioned co-operation are a few compact discs.
